With the slogan “Self-sufficient the day after tomorrow”, KEM Lainsitztal has set itself the goal of being energy self-sufficient by 2030. The focus in this project phase is on

• Achieving a sustainable regional energy supply through the intelligent use of the PV electricity produced, the installation of storage systems and innovative PV systems as well as the further development and expansion of regional renewable energy communities 
• Achieving independence from fossil fuels by increasing the renewable heat supply, in particular by drawing up a gas phase-out plan for Weitra, including implementation, expansion and increased efficiency of local heating networks -
• Achieving reductions in consumption through the further development of energy accounting, comprehensive renovation plans, process support for renovations and new buildings and increasing the efficiency of municipal equipment and lighting 
• Increasing the refurbishment rate through an all-round carefree refurbishment package and a focus on the new priority of “generation-friendly construction and refurbishment” 
• New aspects such as vacancy mobilization, reduction of CO2 emissions from consumption, bidirectional charging and promotion of public transport.
• Promotion of e-mobility, pedestrian mobility and everyday cycling
