Project Description

Heat networks are an excellent opportunity for integrating renewable energies into holistic heat supply, which helps with the reduction of CO2 emissions and other ecological damage. Ideally, all regionally available renewable heat sources should be integrated and decentralized supply should be accelerated. This would relieve the energy grid and deficient operating modes could be avoided through intelligent and decentralized solutions. Simultaneously, emissions could be reduced, since integrated biomass boilers do not switch on and off continuously.

To accelerate development in that direction, the heat-prosumer-concept, which has already been explored in a former project, was evaluated and further developed. The emphasis clearly was on the usage of renewable energy, even though all developed concepts can be transferred to energy from various sources.

Results:

  • A brochure of requirements of all considered heat sources,
  • an evaluation of adequate usage in the context of bi-directional networks,
  • a robust and efficient concept of regulation for prosumer participation
  • a business model, which is based on and optimized through simulation studies and comparisons with other approaches.
