KEM Lainsitztal has set a motto titled “Self-sufficient into the future – Every step counts!”, which primarily denotes a goal to accelerate energy efficiency. Consequently, this decreased energy consumption is intended to be covered via targeted usage of renewable energy sources.

The continuation phase emphasize energy efficiency within the area of mobility. Here, promising potentials are currently lying dormant within the region. Acceleration of e-mobility and incentives for walking more, or using bicycles as means of transportation only represent two key points.

In the area of renewable energies, photovoltaics were the main focus. The share of energy produced through solar power was increased through the introduction of a citizen participation model.

Continual cultivation of awareness, events for varying target groups, school projects, information about funding, as well as targeted distribution of funding through the climate and energy model region, were further key factors. Additionally, energy efficiency will be increased, and energy accounting improved within the public sphere.
