| Project Description | The EEÖ, together with the KEM region Lainsitztal and external stakeholders, created a concept for a “Perpetuum Mobile of renewable energy” in the outdoor area of Sonnenplatz (i.e., SONNENWELT) in Großschönau, which considered local renewable energy sources, such as sun, wind, water and biomass. A concept for a “Landmark of energy transition” presented the interplay and perpetual availability of renewable energies in a practical and clear fashion. The project pursued the following goals:
This „Perpeetum mobile of renewable energies“ represented a supra-regional “Landmark of energy transition” and postulate an example for all climate and energy model regions. It supposed to serve as an incentive for these regions to represent their core ambitions in a technical and artistic fashion, so they may contribute to an overarching cultivation of awareness. All 4 of the planned elements (sun, wind, water and biomass) are sufficiently available at and around Sonnenplatz Großschönau. For conception, current technologies of Austrian producers were used to emphasize and support Austria’s pioneering role within the area of renewable energies. This concept supported creating awareness for participating technologies and the supporting climate and energy model regions. Moreover, it complemented the actual special exhibition „Renewable Energies“ at SONNENWELT. |
