Our energy system is going through a transition, which is ultimately means our power supply, being the focal point of reliable energy supply, is going through this transition too. Developing innovative products and services for a smart supply system of the future, requires new, interdisciplinary and cross-industry knowledge. Unfortunately, due to the lack of educational offers and opportunities for further education on Smart Grids, Smart Meters and Smart Markets, this type of knowledge is non-existent in most companies. Therefore, the main goal of the qualification network “Smart Energy Services” was the development and implementation of a future-oriented and tailored qualification measure. This measure helped companies create in-depth competence, in order to be able to develop new products and services in the area of “intelligent networks”. Consequently, this qualification network contributed to closing the identified qualification gap in the area of “Smart Energy Services”.
