Klimawandelanpassungsmodellregion 2024/25

In the project “Wir machen klimafit: Lainsitztaler Klima-Spürnasen”, four primary schools including two ASO classes and one middle school of KLAR! Lainsitztal were comprehensively addressing the key topic of “climate change adaptation” for the first time.

The pupils were not only out and about in the school building and on the school grounds as climate detectives, but - as a highlight - they were also active as climate village detectives. The results offer valuable added value, as options for action will be developed not only in school, but also for public spaces for the first time. In addition, workshops, company visits, educational excursions and school garden projects on the topic of climate change adaptation were used for hands-on work, reflection, critical scrutiny and the development of visions and adaptation options.

The issue of skills shortages was a consistent aspect of all school activities. Through career presentations, cooperation with regional companies, visits to the largest job fair in the Waldviertel region and apprentice taster days, pupils learned about green jobs and climate-relevant professions.
